Drive Rinaldi on a Sunday morning and you can see the shift without anyone announcing it. The parking lot behind Kaiser fills before 9 a.m. Strollers cut across the Town Green toward a cluster of tents. A line forms at a door that was a Baja Fresh six months ago. For most of the last decade, weekend gravity in the 91326 pulled south toward Porter Ranch Town Center or west toward Northridge. In 2026, the center of the neighborhood weekend is the Town Green at The Vineyards, and the programming and openings around it are worth reworking your Saturday for.

Sunday morning belongs to the Kaiser lot
The weekly Certified California Farmers Market runs every Sunday in the Kaiser Permanente lot at The Vineyards, and it has become the most reliable social hour in the neighborhood. Bring your own bags, leave the dog at home (county health code, not personal preference), and treat it as the anchor for the rest of the day rather than an errand.
The market is run by California Certified Farmers Markets, the largest farmers market organization in Southern California, so the vendor rotation is deeper than the average pop-up. Combine it with breakfast at one of the sit-down restaurants a hundred feet away and you have burned exactly zero minutes on the 118.
What actually opened, and where it sits
The dining pad at The Vineyards is a 220,000-square-foot open-air center wrapped around a town green, a Whole Foods, and a movie theater. Here is the current shape of the block, with what is new and what is worth walking past the parking lot for.

If you have not been in since Salina and Slice House opened, the practical implication is that the center now covers a Tuesday date night, a Friday pizza-and-a-movie run, and a Sunday post-market brunch without leaving the property. That was not true two years ago.
The Town Green is doing free programming most residents miss
The Vineyards has a 4,000-square-foot community room and a "Main Street" that can be closed to vehicle traffic for pedestrian events. The programming built on top of that infrastructure is the part locals underuse.
A partial slice of what has run or is on the calendar:
- Valley Cultural Foundation free summer concerts on the Town Green, including a June 2026 Taylor Swift tribute set by New Romantics. The concert hotline is 818-704-1358 and the series continues into late summer.
- Lil Bunches Kids Club Saturday mornings on the Town Green with live children's music from The BeatBuds.
- Fall Family Game Night with giant lawn games, pop-up mini golf, and a DJ, most recently held on a Friday evening in early November.
- Kids yoga sessions inside the community room on select Saturday afternoons.
The center was designed with a closeable Main Street specifically so the neighborhood could use it as a plaza. It is worth using it as one.
None of this requires a ticket, an RSVP, or a drive down the 405. Check the Vineyards events calendar the Wednesday before your weekend and you will usually find something on the Green.
The 7 a.m. hike most neighbors drive past to reach Malibu
Porter Ranch has one of the most usable morning trail networks inside the city limits, and it starts at streets you have already driven a hundred times. The classic loop links three trails that all sit inside the neighborhood:
- Park near Porter Ridge Park just off Sesnon Boulevard.
- Drop into Aliso Canyon, follow the seasonal creek south under the oaks, and cross the water two or three times depending on the season.
- Climb the connector up to Eddleston Park at Reseda Boulevard, then take the Palisades Trail west with the valley on your left.
- Cross Tampa Avenue and drop into Limekiln Canyon to complete the loop back to your car.
The out-and-back on Limekiln Canyon Trail North alone runs 3.7 miles with about 410 feet of gain and takes most walkers roughly an hour and a half. It is an easy grade, dogs are allowed on leash, and the oaks in Aliso are dense enough that the whole thing stays shaded through a July morning if you start early. Compare that to the drive time to Solstice Canyon and the math changes fast.
If you have lived here two years and have never crossed the iron gate at the end of Sesnon, that is the one to fix first.
Saturday, from scratch
If you want a template that uses what the neighborhood actually offers in July 2026, this one works and stays inside the 91326 the entire day:
- 7:00 a.m. Park at Porter Ridge Park. Do the counterclockwise loop through Aliso, up to the Palisades, and back down Limekiln. Home by 9:15 with an appetite.
- 10:00 a.m. Walk the Sunday market at The Vineyards (or on Saturday, grab breakfast at Porter's House inside Whole Foods and pick up bread and produce for the week).
- 12:30 p.m. Slice at Slice House by Tony Gemignani at Porter Ranch Town Center. Bring it home or eat in.
- Late afternoon. Kids at the Lil Bunches session on the Town Green, or a nap if the loop was honest.
- 7:30 p.m. Salina for dinner if you booked ahead, La Popular if you did not and want a bar seat, Lure if you have out-of-town guests to impress.
You will have driven under six miles total and hit four operators that did not exist in this configuration two summers ago.

You use your car less. You bump into neighbors more.
